Psalm 91 (14–16)
I was journaling after reading my devotions this afternoon, and the last part of the reading, taken from Psalms and Proverbs, had a Psalm that is credited to Moses. I was pretty amazed that these are words that are written and translated so we can read and understand them, but they were written and prayed by Moses.
I was sitting quietly later on, and felt like I was supposed to write out the last three verses of this Psalm, to accept the good in it for myself. I also felt like I was supposed to do that here; I’m not sure if it will resonate with you as much as it did with me, but here is what I wrote:
“Because he (Ben — or you) loves me,” says the Lord,
“I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
He will call upon me for answers, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver and honor him.
With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
