Judgement
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil. (2 Corinthians 5:10)
If you have even dipped a toe into the news cycle in the United States, you are well aware that it is usually on fire (sometimes literally). This season, the President and the Senate are moving forward with the confirmation process for a judge to enter a vacant seat on the Supreme Court. Just doing a little bit of research proves that this pick for the seat is a women of achievement, intelligence, and affection for this country and the intentions of the Constitutions. She does not waver on right decisions made by the Supreme Court, such as Brown v. Board of Education. She does not, however, hold other landmark cases in as high regard, such as Roe v. Wade. While she has not explicitly said she plans to strike down this decision, everything about her shouts that she would absolutely side against this original Supreme Court decision: her faith, her children, and her record.
I won’t be writing about the unfair attacks against her as a Catholic or as a mom of adopted children, or a conservative judge. Those aren’t the real reasons they are afraid. They make a fuss about healthcare and other things, but it’s a smokescreen. There are powerful people who are deathly afraid of her because she MIGHT take away their “right” to worship Moloch and empower the devil with the blood of the innocent. They mask it as concern for women, for equal rights, for “reproductive rights” (which is a nonsense phrase — it has as much meaning as planting one’s face on a keyboard).
The Supreme Court and the justices that are sat there have significant influence, but they are not the judges of all humanity. Regardless of where you stand politically, there are books in heaven with many pages, recording the lives of every human who has ever lived. There is a dreadful word written with permanent ink in too many of those books, with no earthly hope of erasing it. Heaven mourns that word every time it has to be written down, but it’s there every single time a person vocally supports the act of abortion — or does nothing to stand against it.
I can say with utmost certainty that anyone who has not submitted to the blood of Jesus, if they have participated in any way with this heinous act, will have MURDERER written in their book forever. And I can say with even more certainty that it shatters the heart of God every time He has to write it down. There is hope; there is always hope. That record can be expunged, healing and forgiveness can be found, and peace can be restored. You can stand before the Throne free of that dreadful word for eternity, and be judged according to Who has saved you.
If you claim the name of Jesus, and you aren’t using your voice and your vote to vote the values of Heave, you are allowing yourself to be an accessory to murder. This is only a black and white issue. There are plenty that are complicated and worth discussing — this is not one. You either use your right to change your nation to preserve the innocent, or you abandon them to die. If you claim the name of Jesus, you are free from your sin and can stand before Heaven. Your name is in His Book, forever.
But you may find yourself faced with faces you have never seen. He might ask you why you did nothing to save them.
Abortion will still be a long fight, even if Roe is overturned. Voting for life does not automatically mean every baby is saved, but it does mean you have acted according to the Book your name is written in. The Judge will hold all humanity accountable for how they responded to this sin. Did you use whatever gift you had, whatever privilege you were granted, to fight for the unborn? If you recuse yourself from taking a stand with your vote, because you don’t care much for either candidate in whatever political office the ballot is for, you will be judged for that decision.
There is no middle ground.
Leap up and roar and fight and kick and scream and reason and plead for them, in whatever way you are able. Use your wallets, use your platforms, use your voice, use your vote. Do this, not just in this election cycle but for every one to come, as long as you are living — and pass on this legacy of life for others to do the same, as long as the United States of America exists.
When you walk into eternity, you may see far less of those faces whose lives were robbed before they left the womb. There may be lives that were lived to the fullest because of what you did. And you will find yourself unashamed, because you fought for them with your dying breath.
You have been given the power to change how you are judged, come that moment where it is just you and the Judge. You can give yourself the right to say:
“Yes, Father, I fought for them.”
There is almost nothing more inspiring to me then the thought that I might be able to say that. I don’t think I’ve done enough. I’ll keep writing and talking and voting, even if nobody really pays attention.
Come Judgement, I want to stand next to those whose lives were robbed, whose blood cries out to God right now. In this season, make your choice. The battle lines have been drawn. If you have neglected your voice, there is no shame. You can start now.
But you had better start.
Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:11–15)
