Forgiveness

I was reading a healing testimony in a book called “Miracles” and one of the testimonies involved a woman who had a severe nut allergy, that she was healed from, but before she was prayed for, the pastor praying heard the phrase “broken heart” over the woman, and asked her if that word meant anything to her. She revealed she had a strained relationship with her dad, and prayed to place her dad into God’s hands and to forgive him so she could be free of the resentment and unforgiveness in her life.

I felt that story was being pointed out to me, that God wanted me to write out a prayer of forgiveness (whether it’s for resentments or hurts from family members, or even anger toward God), and this is what I felt I was supposed to write:

Heavenly Father, you know all the things in my heart — You know them before I even say or think them, and they matter to You. I release this to You, and I forgive and let go. I want to be free of this, and I can be, because of Jesus, and what He did on the cross. Thank You for Your peace and for Your victory over every hurt and sin; amen.
