Devotions

I was doing my devotions earlier today, and the first part of the reading in the One Year was in Jeremiah 30–31, and one of the passages is about one of the many things that Jeremiah hears from God stood out to me especially as something really good and meant to be heard, so here it is:

This is what the Lord says:

“Sing with joy for Jacob, shout for the foremost of the nations. Make your praises be heard, and say,

‘O Lord, save your people, the remnant of Israel.’

See, I will bring them from the land of the north, and gather them from the ends of the earth. Among them will be the blind and the lame; expectant mothers and women in labor; a great throng will return.

They will come with weeping; they will pray as I bring them back…”

I really felt like there are a lot of people who feel like they’ve lost people close to them, that they’re too far away for God to pull them back, but that the Holy Spirit was saying that there will be a day soon, a first step, on the road to Him bringing them back, whoever they are, and it doesn’t matter how far they’ve gone or what they have done because God wasn’t leaving any of Israel out when He promised to bring them home, and He isn’t leaving any of us out, either.
